Scientists warn of global natural disasters, and illustrate what can be done about them.
The world is at risk - placed in danger by disasters which are not man-made, but nonetheless will cost millions of lives: meteorites from outer space crashing into Earth, mega-earthquakes flattening whole regions, and killer-viruses decimating humanity. One of the objectives of the Fragile World Foundation is to demonstrate the vulnerability of the Earth in the face of these threats, and reveal opportunities to analyze these dangers through targeted and coordinated global research, and control them through preventative measures.
